Auto-rickshaw, truck collision leaves 2 dead, 4 injured in B'baria

Two people died and four sustained injuries after a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a truck collided head-on at Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria today.

The accident took place in the upazila's Kharera area on Cumilla-Brahmanbaria regional highway around 8am today.

One of the deceased was identified as Kawser Mia (35), the auto-rickshaw driver, reports our local correspondent quoting Brahmanbaria Khantihata Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Shahjalal Alam.

Quoting eyewitnesses, the OC said that the Brahmanbaria bound auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Cumilla-bound truck.

Two people -- the CNG driver and a passenger -- died on the spot. Four others were injured and were rushed to Brahmanbaria General Hospital by locals, said the OC, adding that police recovered the bodies and sent them to the same hospital's morgue for autopsy.
