Bangladesh logs seven more Covid deaths, 3,447 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of seven more patients and infected 3,447 others across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Saturday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,136 and infections to 16,12,489 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The day’s test positivity rate is 14.35 per cent.

Four of the deceased are male patients while the remaining three are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 24,028 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 853 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,18,32,120 samples as of January 15.

In the past 24 hours, 294 patients recovered from the viral disease totalling the recovery to 15,52,600.

Four of the deaths were reported in Dhaka division, two in Sylhet division and the remaining one death was reported in Barishal division, according to the DGHS data.
