Bangladesh reports 12 more Covid deaths, 11,434 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of 12 more patients and infected 11,434 others across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,192 and infections to 16,64,616 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The day’s test positivity rate is 28.49 per cent. The rate was 26.37 per cent on Thursday and 25.11 per cent on Wednesday.

Of the deceased, seven are male patients and the remaining five were female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 40,134 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country while Bangladesh had tested 1,20,47,715 samples as of January 21.
