The police on Tuesday said that they had arrested five former students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet at places in Bangladesh capital Dhaka for backing the ongoing student protest on the campus demanding removal of the SUST vice-chancellor.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police commissioner Nisarul Arif said that Criminal Investigation Department of police arrested the five former students of SJST for ‘funding the protesting students and giving posts on Facebook pages’.
He said that the former SUST students, arrested in Dhaka, were handed over to SMP.
