Dipu Moni claims no connection with CSTU land acquisition

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said she and her family members have no financial connection to the land acquisition process for Chandpur Science and Technology University (CSTU).

The education minister made the remarks during a press conference at her Hare Road residence in Dhaka on Thursday evening.

The minister said: “There is no chance of me or my family members benefiting financially from this land acquisition.”

She added that the allegations against her family were untrue, baseless and targeted.

“A section is carrying out this propaganda keeping in mind that elections will be held in two years,” Dipu Moni further said.

The education minister also claimed that her family had no land in the proposed site for the university in Chandpur.

According to a media report, a group of influential people bought 62.5 acres of land for Chandpur Science and Technology University at a price 20 times higher than the actual price of the land selected by the government.

There are allegations that influential people close to Education Minister Dipu Moni and her associates are involved in the mismanagement.
