Three people were killed today after a bus hit an auto-rickshaw near the Mahadebhpur bus stand area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Manikganj's Shibaloy upazila.
The deceased were identified as Zahid (40), the auto-rickshaw driver, passengers Rahman (25) and Razzak (30), reports our local correspondent quoting Riyad Mahmud, in-charge of the Barangail Highway Police Outpost.
"The auto-rickshaw driver and passenger Rahman died on the spot when a Comfort Line bus bound for Paturia hit the auto-rickshaw around noon," he said.
On the way to Dhaka, another injured auto-rickshaw passenger died, said Riyad.
"The bus driver Sattar Mollah (55) was arrested after the accident and the bus was seized," he added.
