Bangladesh reports 21 more Covid deaths, 10,378 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of 21 more patients and infected 10,378 others across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Saturday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,329 and infections to 17,73,149 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The day’s test positivity rate is 31.10 per cent.

Of the deceased, 14 are male patients and the remaining seven are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 33,373 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country while Bangladesh had tested 1,23,90,318 samples as of January 29.

During the reporting period, a total of 1,109 patients were recovered from the infection. With this, a total of 15,63,478 people recovered from the viral disease.

Of the deceased, 12 died in Dhaka, two in Chattogram, Khulna and Rangpur divisions each and one each died in Rajshahi, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions, according to the DGHS data.
