Bangladesh reports 31 more Covid deaths, 13,501 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of 31 more patients and infected 13,501 others across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Monday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,394 and infections to 17,98,833 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The day’s test positivity rate is 29.77 per cent.

Of the deceased, 20 are male patients and the remaining 11 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 45,358 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country while Bangladesh had tested 1,24,78,682 samples as of January 31.

During the reporting period, a total of 2,568 patients were recovered from the infection. With this, a total of 15,68,213 people recovered from the viral disease.

Of the deceased, 16 died in Dhaka, five in Khulna, three each in Rangpur and Mymensingh, two in Chattogram, and one each died in Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions, according to the DGHS data.
