Three passengers of a private car died today when the vehicle was hit by the Panchagarh Express train at a level crossing in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur.
One of the deceased was identified as Hafizur Rahman, son of Halim Shah of Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur. Identity of the other two were not known immediately, quoting Birampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Sumon Chandra.
Citing eyewitnesses, the OC said the private car was heading towards Hili in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur from Parbatipur upazila this morning.
Three people died on the spot when the train hit the vehicle at the level crossing. Locals said the gatekeeper was not present at the crossing, the OC added.
