The government has issued new directives, including restriction on social gatherings and suspension of all in-person classes, considering the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases triggered by the Omicron variant.
A gazette notification issued today said that the restrictions will be followed from February 7 and 21.

The government has banned gathering of more than 100 people at -- indoor and outdoor -- state, social, political and religious events. Those who will attend the programme must carry Covid vaccination certificates or have to collect RT PCR test report (done within 24 hours before attending the gathering), the notification said.
In-person classes of all schools and colleges and equivalent educational institutions will remain suspended, it added.
