One arrested over death of five brothers in Cox’s Bazar accident

Rapid Action Battalion has recently arrested the driver of a pick-up van after on charge of killing five brothers in a road accident on Tuesday while they were crossing the Cox’s Bazar–Chattogram highway at the Sagir Shahghat point in Malumghat area of Chakoria upazila in Cox’s Bazar district.

The arrested was identified as Shahidul Islam Saiful. The RAB arrested him raiding Mohammadpur area in Dhaka.

Five brothers were killed and four more of their siblings were injured on Tuesday as they were hit by the pickup while crossing the Cox’s Bazar–Chattogram highway at the Sagir Shahghat point in Malumghat area of Chakoria upazila in Cox’s Bazar district.

In the Cox’s Bazar tragedy, the deceased were identified as Anupam Chandra Shil, 47, Nirupam Chandra Shil, 45, Dipak Chandra Shil, 40, Champak Chandra Shil, 35 and Sharan Chandra Shil, sons of Suresh Chandra Shil of village Rivabang under Chakoria upazila in the district.
