Search committee publishes proposed names

The search committee, formed by the president to form the next Election Commission, on Monday published the names of 322 individuals proposed by different political parties, organisations and individuals for the appointment of the chief election commissioner and other election commissioners.

The Cabinet Division, which is giving secretarial assistance to the search committee, published the names on its website.

Of the submitted names, most are former bureaucrats, former judges, academicians and former military and police officers.

The search committee will prepare a list of 10 names and send it to the president for the appointment of the CEC and other ECs.
