The health authorities have reported 3,539 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the caseload in Bangladesh to 1,926,570.
The overall fatality rose by 20 to stand at 28,907.
In the 24 hours to 8am, a total of 34,547 samples were tested for a positivity rate of 10.24%, which was 12.2% the previous day.
Nationwide another 11,800 people recovered from the disease taking the total recovery 1,727,866.
The latest figures by the Directorate General of Health Services put the mortality rate at 1.5% and the recovery rate at 89.69%.
