At least 657 new infections were recorded and five people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 2.91 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.44 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,058 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,45,765, added the release.
A total of 22,584 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 4,628 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,31,577 and the recovery rate at 94.13 percent, added the release.
Of the five deceased, one was male and four were female.
Of them, one was between 31-40, two were within 41-50, one was between 71-80, and one was between 81-90 years old, added the release.
