Railway to sell tickets only at counters for 5 days from March 21

Bangladesh Railway is going to sell all tickets only at counters for five days from March 21 to March 25 due to handing over of online ticket selling system to new company.

During these five days advance tickets could be bought before two days of journey instead of normal system of selling tickets before five days.

From March 26 the new joint venture Shohoz-Synesis-Vincen will start selling 50 per cent of tickets at counters and 50 per cent via online.

Till March 20 CNS limited will continue selling tickets under Bangladesh Railway’s Integrated Ticketing System.

The railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan briefed these at a press conference held at the rail Bhaban on Monday.

The railway on February 15 signed a contract with the JV for five years.

Currently under the Integrated Ticketing System tickets of 104 intercity trains are being sold through computer from 77 stations.

The computer-based ticketing system was introduced in Bangladesh Railway in 1994.
