US Under Secretary Nuland in Dhaka on 3-day visit

US Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland arrived in Dhaka on a three-day visit today.

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen received her at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Tomorrow, Nuland and Momen are set to hold the Partnership Dialogue and discuss all aspects of bilateral relationship, including economy, Covid cooperation, development, security, Indo-Pacific, democracy, human rights, and labour rights.

They will hold a joint press conference at the State Guest House Padma after the Partnership Dialogue.

Nuland will also call on Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, and hold meetings with the civil society and business leaders to strengthen economic partnerships and deepen ties in the pursuit of peace, prosperity, and security in the Indo-Pacific region, said a State Department statement.

After visiting Dhaka, the US official will also travel to India and Sri Lanka to underscore US commitment to, and cooperation with, Indo-Pacific partners.

She will hold Partnership Dialogues with Sri Lanka and Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi.

Other senior members of the delegation include Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Amanda Dory.
