Four dead from diarrhoea this year: DGHS

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today reported that four patients have died due to diarrhea in Bangladesh during this year's outbreak since the second week of March.

"A total of 23 lakh people, aged one year and above, will receive two shots of oral diarrhoea vaccines in Dhaka city," Dr Nazmul Islam, spokesperson of the DGHS, said during a virtual briefing today.

Pregnant women will not be included in the campaign which will be held in Jatrabari, Dakshinkhan, Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Sabujbagh areas of Dhaka.

The campaign to give the first dose of the vaccine will be held in May while the second dose will be given in June, Nazmul added.
