Three more Bangladesh nationals named in Pandora Papers

Three more Bangladesh nationals are named in the latest batch of Pandora Papers released on Tuesday by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists to leak the offshore secrets of wealthy elites.

The Pandora Papers contained the names of three individuals who used addresses in Bangladesh.

According to the latest list, the three Bangladeshi are S Hedayet Ullah, S Rumi Saifullah from capital’s Baridhara DOHS and Shaheda Begum Santi from Shahajalal Upashahor in Sylhet.

Hedayet Ullah and Rumi Saifullah have invested at Trans Global Consulting in Hong Kong while Shaheda Begum to an offshore company, Jas Limited, according to the Pandora Papers.

The first phase of Pandora Papers was published on October 3, 2021 and the second phase was published on December 6, 2021. Names of eight Bangladeshis appeared in the list of offshore investors in the two phsases.

The second batch of Pandora Papers contained the names of six Bangladeshis. They are Nihad Kabir, Sayedul Huda Chowdhury, Islam Manzurul, Mohammad Bhai, Sakina Miraly and Anita Rani Bhowmik.

The new batch contains leaked documents of more than 9,000 offshore companies, trusts and foundations.
