A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver and its lone passenger were killed as the auto-rickshaw collided with a private car at Uttara in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Thursday.
The deceased auto-rickshaw driver is Mohammad Ali, 65, a resident od Dholaipar of Jatrabai in Dhaka but the name of the 40-year-old passenger could not be known as Md Taiful Khandaker Ratul.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost’s sub-inspector Abdul Khan said that the accident took place at Singer crossing point in Uttara area at about 6:00am on Thursday.
He said that both the victims were brought dead to the DMCH.
The police seized the private car but its driver managed to flee, he said.
Deceased Mohammad Ali’s son Md Tariqul Islam on DMCH premises said that his father left their Dholaipar home early in the morning and that the police informed them about the accident.
