Qatar-based news agency Al Jazeera won the top prize for "Best Human Rights Journalism" in the 8th annual Amnesty Media Award.
The Investigative Unit of the agency won the award in the category for the documentary "All the Prime Minister's Men", set against the backdrop of Bangladesh, Al Jazeera reported yesterday.
Phil Reese, Al Jazeera's director of investigative journalism, said that "Exposing human rights abuses is a core value of the I-Unit and winning the investigation of the year from Amnesty International is a huge honour," the report adds.
