Unidentified assailants killed a woman and her two children in their living room at village Babla under Belabo upazila in Narsingdi, police said on Sunday.
The deceased are Rahima Begum, 35, wife of Gias Uddin Sheikh, their her son Rabbi Sheikh, 13, and daughter Rakiba Akhter, 7.
Narsingdi additional superintendent of police (crime) Saheb Ali Pathan said that they found marks of stabbing in the bodies of all the deceased and that the bodies also bore the marks of strangulation.
Police said that Gias, a painter by profession, went to Gazipur on Saturday and returned home on Sunday morning and saw the bodies of his wife and children in their living room and cried out.
They said that the villagers inmformed the matter to the police who recovered the bodies and sent them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for post mortem examination.
The Additional SP said that they began investigation to know the motive of the triple murder.
None was arrested so far but police have been interrogating ‘a few people’, he said.
