Abdur Rouf Talukder, senior secretary of the finance division, has been appointed as the governor of Bangladesh Bank.
He will take the new assignment on July 4, according to a notification by the Financial Institutions Division under the finance ministry issued today.
Talukder will replace Fazle Kabir, former finance secretary who has been heading the central bank since March 20 in 2016.
