At least six people died and over 30 suffered injuries in a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound bus and a microbus near the Bangabandhu Bridge on Dhaka-Tangail highway today (October 6, 2022).
The incident took place around 12:30pm in the roundabout area of the east side of the bridge, our Tangail correspondent reports quoting Sarkar Mohammad Kaiser, superintendent of Tangail police.
The SP said four people died on the spot. Two others died on the way to hospital, sources at the hospital and locals said.
The deceased could not be identified immediately, Mohammad Kaiser said adding that rescue operation is underway.
