An assistant public prosecutor of Shariatpur district judge court and his three-year-old daughter were killed and three other people were injured as a private car carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch in Shariatpur on early Sunday.
The deceased are Sharitpur court APP Rashedul Islam and his daughter Maisha.
The injured ones are the APP’s wife Sohana Akter Mili, 26, daughter Merin, 6, and the private car driver Kamrul Hasan, 30, all residents of Bhasanchar area under Aungaria union under Sadar upazila in the district.
Jahirul Islam, president of district bar association, said that Rashedul along with his family members was returning to Shariatpur from Chattogram.
The car plunged into the roadside ditch at Jamtala under Naria upazila in the district at about 2:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot, he said.
Naria Police Station officer-in-charge Mahabub Alam said that they recovered the bodies from the spot and rescued the injured ones.
