A student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology died on early Friday after being crushed under the wheels of a train at Joypurhat Railway Station in the district town.
The deceased, Rahul Islam, 23, son of Shahriar Rais of Kalipara under Shibganj upazila in Bogura, was a third-year student of the Leather Engineering Department of the KUET.
Santahar Railway Police Station officer-in-charge Moktar Hossain said that the victim died on the spot after falling off the train as he tried to get down in a hurry at about 4:00am at the railway station.
He said that the victim met the fatal accident when was returning home by the Chilahati-bound Simanta Express from Khulna.
