High Court asks why govt school teachers not getting 10th grade pay scale

The High Court has issued a rule asking why assistant teachers in government primary schools across Bangladesh should not be paid at the 10th-grade pay scale.

A High Court bench led by Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam gave the order on Monday.

The concerned defendants including the secretary of the Ministry of Education have been asked to respond to this rule.

On November 10, a primary school assistant teacher from Joypurhat Md Mahbubur Rahman and 15 other teachers from different districts filed the writ in the High Court.

The petitioners sought a direction from the High Court to be paid on a 10th-grade scale.
