Fardin murder: Bushra denied bail, sent to jail

A Dhaka court today sent Amatullah Bushra, the prime accused in the murder of Buet student Fardin Noor Parash, to jail after rejecting her bail plea following the completion of her five-day remand.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ataullah passed the order after Investigation Officer Md Mojibur Rahman, an inspector of Detective Branch of police, produced her before it with a forwarding report.

In the forwarding report, the IO said Bushra gave important information about the killing which is being verified.

As such, she needs to be kept in jail until the investigation is completed, the IO added. Defence, however, submitted a petition seeking bail saying that their client was implicated in the case on vague allegations and she should be granted bail.

Upon hearing both sides, the magistrate turned down the defence pleas and ordered to send her to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj. A team of Rampura police arrested Bushra from Banasree on November 10. She was later placed on a five-day remand in the case.
