Investigation reports trying to serve interest of vested quarters : Fardin’s father

Nur Uddin, father of Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (Buet) student Fardin Nur Parash has refused to accept the investigation report presented by two investigating agencies provided by Detective Branch (DB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, regarding his son's death

He also claimed that Fardin cannot commit suicide. Fardin was killed in a planned way, reports Bangla Tribune.

Nur Uddin alleged that such reports have been published to serve the interest of a vested quarter.

Regarding the video footage provided by the investigating agency, he said: "Fardin committed suicide by jumping from the bridge, the two investigating agencies told me this."

But how were they sure it was Fardin, he asked.

Expressing disappointment at the statement given by the two investigating agencies, he said: "I will never get my son back. We are also digging four more graves. We will grave ourselves alive. The information given by the investigating agencies about Fardin's death is not credible to us.”

Noting that everything can be identified with digital devices, he said: "From Rampura to Johnson Road, Keraniganj, Jurain, Postgola in Dhaka city, no footage was found anywhere!"

“Fardin was seen in one place only in Jatrabari! He was later picked up and killed,” said his father.

He also alleged that the investigating agencies did not take into account the fact that the post-mortem officer had said that he had been killed by hitting on his head and chest.

In response to the question whether to demand a re-investigation or not, Nur Uddin said: "When two law enforcement agencies come together and give the same report, what will happen if the investigation is again handed over to another unit of the law-enforcement force?"

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (DB) Harun-or-Rashid on Wednesday claimed that Fardin committed suicide by jumping into the river out of frustration and mental stress over financial problem.

RAB also made the same claim in a press conference later on the day.

Police recovered Fardin's body from the Shitalakhkhya River, behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj, on November 7, three days after he went missing.

Fardin's father Nur Uddin Rana filed a case with Rampura police station against Fardin's friend named Bushra and some unidentified person on November 10.

The autopsy report, his family and classmates claimed that Fardin was murdered.
