Two people were killed after being crushed under the wheels of a train at Hateya of Kalihati upazila in Tangail on early Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Sagor, 35, son of Chanchol Sikder of village Kashinathpur of Sathia upazila in Pabna, and Sajib, 33, son of Liakot Ali of village Ahampur of Sathia upazila in Pabna.
Tangail railway police outpost in-charge Fazlul Haque said that accident took place at about 2:30am in Hateya area.
A Dhaka-bound train of Nilsagor Express crushed the victims while they were standing on the rail line.
Being informed, GRP Thana recovered the bodies and sent those to 250-bedded Tangail General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations, the police officer added.
