Several students were injured after two groups of higher secondary students of Dhaka College and Ideal College locked in clashes in the capital's Science Laboratory intersection and nearby areas this afternoon.
Shafiqul Islam Shabu, officer-in-charge of New Market Police Station, confirmed news of the clash.
Police are on the spot, he said around 3:00pm.
Several students were injured during the chase and counter chase that followed the initial clash.
At least three of the students were being treated at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, sources at the hospital said.
There was a huge tailback during the clash, witnesses said.
Humayun Kobir Amjad, an honours student of Dhaka College, claimed the clash took place after some students of Ideal College vandalised a bus of Dhaka College.
