Detectives said they arrested three more persons, including one of the masterminds, in connection with the much-talked about Tk 11.25 crore heist from a microbus on its way to refill ATMs.
The arrestees are Md Akash, one of the masterminds, Milon, and Ridoy. They were arrested from different areas of Dhaka, Netrokona and Khulna districts.
Harun or Rashid, chief of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the development at a press conference at DMP Media Centre today.
The DB officials also recovered Tk 58 lakh from their possession, he said.
With the three persons, the law enforcers so far arrested 11 persons and recovered Tk 7.01 crore in this connection.
The robbery took place in Turag area around 7:15am on Thursday when officials of Money Plant Link Private Ltd, the firm hired for transporting the money to DBBL ATMs, were heading towards Savar EPZ in a microbus from Mirpur DOHS, with Tk 11.25 crore in four trunks.
