Bangladesh cop murder accused Rabiul on Interpol’s red notice

Interpol has put the name of Rabiul Islam, a fugitive accused in the murder case of a Bangladesh Police officer murder cases and now staying in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, on the organisation’s red notice.

The name of Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan was put on Interpol’s red notice days after inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun’s March 20 comment that the Interpol had accepted the letter sent by the Bangladesh Police to bring back Rabiul alias Arav.

A red notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action. It is based on an arrest warrant or court order issued by the judicial authorities in the requesting country. Member countries apply their own laws in deciding whether to arrest a person.

The name of Rabiul came to light following media reports that Bangladesh cricket star Shakib Al Hasan and some media stars attended the inauguratiuon ceremony of his jewellery shop ‘Arav Jewellers’ in Dubai.
