4 killed in Gaibandha road accident

Four people, including the driver of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, were killed when a Rangpur-bound bus hit the three-wheeler in Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila this afternoon.

One of the deceased was identified as the driver Abdul Latif, 45. The other three were passengers of the auto-rickshaw, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Arif Anwar, in-charge of Gobindganj Fire Service.

Another passenger was injured and was sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, he added.

The accident took place around 4:30 pm in Taltola area of Dhaka-Rangpur Highway when the auto-rickshaw was heading towards Palashbari, said Atiq, the leader of the firefighting team involved in the rescue operation.

The bus hit the three-wheeler from behind. Two of the deceased died on the spot and the other two were pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, Atiq added.
