PM leaves Tokyo for Washington DC

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today left Tokyo for Washington DC after wrapping up her four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of her Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida.

A United Airlines flight carrying the prime minister and her entourage members took off from the Haneda International Airport in Tokyo around 3:55pm (Japan time) for Dulles International Airport in Washington DC to attend the ceremony marking a 50-year partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank in Washington DC on May 1, PM's Speechwriter M Nazrul Islam told.

The flight is scheduled to land in Washington around 3:50pm (USA time).

Ambassador of Bangladesh to the USA Muhammad Imran will receive the prime minister at the airport.

The premier will leave Washington DC for London on May 4 to attend the coronation of Charles III.

Earlier on April 25, a special chartered VVIP flight (BG1403) of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage members landed at the Haneda International Airport, Tokyo at 4:45pm (local time) on the first leg of her 15-day official visit to Japan, the USA and the UK.
