More girls under the age of 18 were raped in April compared to last month, according to a report released by the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad on Sunday.
The number of reported cases of rape against women and girls rose to 46 in April from 37 in March.
Besides, the report stated that three women and girls were victims of attempted rape and were victims of sexual harassment.
In addition, 13 women committed suicide in April, compared to six in March.
In April, three women and girls were victims of domestic violence, but there were no such reports in March.
Moreover, two domestic helpers were killed, including one who was tortured.
However, there were 233 incidents of violence against women and girls in April, down from 249 in March.
