After a decade, Jamaat gets permission to hold rally in Dhaka

After a decade, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami got permission from the police to hold a rally in Dhaka.

The party will hold its rally today at Institute of Engineers at 2:00pm.

The party got permission to hold the rally under some conditions including party supporters cannot gather outside the auditorium.

Jamaat will hold the rally protesting price hikes of daily essentials, demanding release of its leaders and holding the next election under a caretaker government system.

Jamaat sources said the last time it held a rally securing police permission was on February 9, 2013.
