2 Bangladeshis die in Malaysia fire, 4 others injured

Two Bangladeshi workers died due to smoke inhalation and four others sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a printing press at Bandar Baru Bangi area in Selangor state of Malaysia early Thursday.

The information was confirmed in a statement of Selangor State Fire and Rescue Department.

The operations centre (PGO) of the state fire department received information about a fire in a publishing printing factory at 4:14am.

Later, a total of 36 staff from Bandar Baru Bangi, Kajang, Semenyih and Serdang Fire and Rescue Stations rushed to the spot and took the fire under control at 4:48am.

Six Bangladeshi workers were trapped after the fire originated in the factory.

Four of them were rescued alive and the other two died, according to the statement.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police.

However, the identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
