An earthquake jolted Dhaka and elsewhere in the country on Friday morning, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The quake was felt at 10:46am and the epicenter of the earthquake was Golapganj in Sylhet, a meteorologist in the BMD said.
He said that the earthquake was of light category.
No damage or casualty was reported so far.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was located around 23 kilometers southeast of Sylhet, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
People took to social media to report the jolt all across the country.
