The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday sentenced four people to death for committing crimes against humanity at different places under Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur during the Liberation War in 1971.
The tribunal chairman Justice Md Shahinur Islam pronounced the verdict.
The condemned convicts are Abdul Mannan Howlader, Ashraf Ali alias Asrab Ali Howlader, Md Moharaj Howlader alias Hatkata Moharaj and Md Nurul Amin Howlader.
Among them, Md Nurul Amin Howlader is on the run while three others heard the verdict from the dock.
During the Liberation War, all the four were activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and joined local Razakar Bahini, according to the prosecution.
