BNP activists gather in Nayapaltan, vacate quickly as per police instruction

A day prior to BNP's grand rally, the leaders and activists started to gather on the road in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan this morning, chanting slogans.

But they cleared the road immediately after police instructed them to leave the street in 10 minutes.

Leaders and activists from Chattogram's Banshkhali area were seen holding banners and chanting slogans in front of the party office, and they were soon joined by party activists from various districts of the country.

The gathering led to a halt in traffic movement on the single lane in front of the BNP office.

Around 11:00am in the morning, police, who took up position at the spot, asked the leaders and activists to vacate the road within 10 minutes, and as per the directive, the area was vacated in just five minutes.

At 11:45 am, when the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi reached the central office, a few more people gathered there.

He came forward and requested the leaders and activists to leave the spot, saying, "Today, you all should leave. There is no rally scheduled for today. The rally will take place tomorrow. You are welcome to join us again tomorrow."

Police personnel have been deployed in front of the BNP office since Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the rally.
