Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over the country.

‘Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,’ said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the forecast begins from 9:00am on Friday.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 35.7 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga while the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded by 23.6 degree Celsius at Kutubdia.

Country’s maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 125 millimeters at Sitakunda.

The sun sets at 6.23pm on Friday while rises at 05.37am on Saturday in the capital.
