Two people were killed after a bus hit a motorcycle and mini truck on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Ansar camp area of Chattogram's Patiya upazila early today.
The deceased were identified as Azizur Rahman Khokon, the motorbike rider, and Syed Azam, helper of the mini truck.
The accident happened around 1:00am when the mini truck was taking a U-turn on the highway with the motorcycle stopped behind it, Patiya Highway Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Snehanshu Bikash Sarker told.
At that moment, a Chattogram-bound Eagle Paribahan bus rammed both the motorcycle and truck from behind, leaving Khokon and Azam dead on the spot, the OC added.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. Both bodies were handed over to their respective families after completing legal procedures.
The bus, truck and bike were seized by police.
A case was lodged in this connection.
