UK discussed importance of free, fair polls in Bangladesh with PM

The British minister of state for foreign commonwealth and development affairs Tariq Ahmad on Monday in a meeting with Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina in London underlined the importance of free and fair election in Bangladesh

‘Delighted to host prime minister Hasina in London. The United Kingdom and Bangladesh share strong bilateral ties based on trade and investment, climate and supporting the Rohingyas. As Commonwealth partners we discussed the importance of free, fair and participatory elections,’ tweeted Tariq Ahmad.

The Western bloc including United States has recently been pressing for free, fair and peaceful national election in Bangladesh.
