India’s BSF kills 2 Bangladeshis along Chuadanga border

Two Bangladeshis were shot to death by the members of the Indian Border Security Force along Baradi border area under Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga early Sunday.

The border killing victims are Sajedur Rahman, 27, son of Haidar Ali, and Khaja Moyeenuddin, 30, son of Shariatullah, residents of village Parkrishnapur Jhoighoria in the upazila.

Chuadanga superintendent of police RM Faizur Rahman said that the incident took place near pillar 82 of Krishnaganj police station in India's Nadia district at around 3:00am.

A patrol team of BSF opened fire on them while they were entering the border area to bring Indian cattle, he said.

The duo died on the spot, the police official said.

BSF members later dragged their bodies into Indian territory and kept it at a hospital in Nadia district, police officials said, quoting local people.

Chuadanga BGB 6 battalion commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Sayeed Mohammad Jahidur Rahman said that they sent a formal letter to the BSF asking for more information in this regard.

The process of handing over the body to Bangladesh was under way, he added.
