A total of 1,151 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh have been deployed across Bangladesh in a bid to hold the January 7 general election peacefully.
The members of BGB were deployed across Bangladesh on Friday and the deployment will continue until January 10.
BGB public relations officer Shariful Islam said that a total of 1,151 platoons of BGB were deployed across the country to hold the upcoming 12th parliamentary election in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
He said that BGB would work as a mobile and striking force 'In Aid to the Civil Power' to assist the local civil administration to maintain law and order in the election areas across the country until January 10, 2024.
