Man, son found killed, daughter injured in city

Police recovered the bodies of a sub-assistant engineer of a private company and his son and rescued his daughter in an unconscious state at their home in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased are Mashiur Rahman, 50, and his son Modabbir Hossain Sadab, 18.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station inspector (investigations) Sujit Dey, referring to circumstantial evidence, said that they suspected that Mashiur killed his son Sadab and then committed suicide when his wife was not at home.

Mashiur’s wife took their daughter to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state, he said.

Inspector Sujit said that Mashiur was a sub-assistant engineer at a private developer company, and then he got involved in share market investment.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon zone assistant commissioner Imran Hossain said that Mashiur lost his job and was frustrated over the payment of his loans.

‘His wife went out of home at about 1:30pm and found them dead when she returned home at about 4:00pm,’ he said.
