10km tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway

Due to road accidents and increase in vehicle pressure, a 10km-long tailback of vehicles has been created on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway.

From Friday morning on the highway from Elenga in Tangail to Jokarchar, the traffic is moving at a slow speed at some places along the 10 km area. Passengers and drivers have to suffer due to this.

Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station SI Liton Miah said that a truck-covered van collision took place at the Kamakhya intersection of the road around 7:30am. As a result, the traffic slowed down.

Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides. After the two vehicles were removed from the road, traffic resumed, he added.
