Heatwave: National University suspends all classes

National University authorities have suspended classes of all colleges under the university following the ongoing heatwave over the country.

This announcement was made in a press release this Saturday afternoon.

According to the press release, the classes of colleges affiliated with the National University will remain closed until further notice due to severe heatwave.

The suspension of classes will continue until further notice, said the release.

However, all the examinations under the university will be held as per the existing schedule.

Earlier, all the schools and colleges were declared closed till April 27 through separate notifications.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), a severe heat wave is sweeping over the Khulna division and Rajshahi, Pabna and Tangail districts and it may continue for the next five days.

Meanwhile, Jessore on Saturday recorded the highest temperature of the country at 42.6°C.

The maximum temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 40.4°C.
