Awami League orchestrating nationwide attacks on BNP men

Dhaka, Dec 25 (Just News): BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that Awami League orchestrated attacks on their party leaders and activists throughout Bangladesh on Monday.

“It was a very dangerous day for us,” he said.

He claimed this while addressing the media at a press briefing, at BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters, on Tuesday.

“Since the announcement of the election schedule on November 8, law enforcement agencies have arrested 7,021 of ours activists nationwide and filed 273 false cases,” he added.

Rizvi furthered: “The police and ruling party activists are searching our candidates’ residences at night. We expected the deployment of the army would help improve the situation but there is still no environment for a fair election.”

He, however, still expressed hope that the army will ensure a better atmosphere for candidates of all parties.

The senior BNP leader then showed photos of the incidents that had occurred on Monday and demanded the immediate release of all arrested BNP leaders and activists.
