Police in separate drives arrested two people including a local Awami League leader from Shenbagh and Sadar upazilas of Noakhali early today in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman after Sunday's election.
The arrestees are Ruhul Amin, former member of Charjubli union parishad and also publicity affairs secretary of Subarnachar Awami League, and Ibrahim Khalil Bechu, our local correspondent reports quoting Nizam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Char Jabbar Police Station.
With this, five people have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.
